Care and Playful Learning Lead Practitioner - Part Time

We currently have 12 out of school care projects where we work with children aged between 4 and 12 years old.

We are looking for candidates to work as an integral part of the Senior Team, promoting quality in a people centred environment, where playful learning is valued and nurtured. Professional leadership qualities are required to respond to holistic needs of all stakeholders. CPD and reflective practice is an important part of the role, you will be expected to attend and facilitate training, quality improvement and senior meetings as part of this.

Hours of Work:

Term-Time – After-school Care: 2.45pm to 6pm, with additional weekly office hours. Some projects offer a morning service from 7.45am until 9am.

Holiday Club – We offer term time only or negotiated hours in agreement with project needs.

Additional Hours - Training sessions and regular meetings, (time back will be given or overtime will be paid at hourly rate).

 

Salary:

Childcare Project Manager: £12.85 per hour

Up to 35 days annual leave (including Public Holidays) Pro-rata for Term-time.

 

Additional Benefits:

Additional benefits after 5 years

20% subsidy on childcare at MACS subject to availability

 

Requirements:

Minimum Level 4 Childcare Qualification or Level 4 Management with a minimum of 2 years Childcare supervisory experience applicants must either hold or be willing to work towards the B.A. Childhood Practice or equivalent.

Care and Playful Learning Support Worker Career Opportunities  - Unqualified  and Qualified

Care and Playful Learning Support Worker Part Time:

​​East Renfrewshire Area - Term Time only, Split shift: 7.45 am - 9.00 am then returning again at 2.45pm - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday

Scotstoun Area - Term Time only: 2.45pm - 6pm, Monday to Friday

Benefits of a CPL Support Worker:

  • In-House Training

  • 22 days holiday (including 9 public holidays)

  • Opportunity for holiday work may be available upon request

  • Competitive rate of pay of £8.91 per hour. (pending increase)

  • Uniform Provided

Requirements of CPL Support Worker:

  • Childcare experience required, this experience can be gained through Employment, Childminding, Baby Sitting, Volunteering with Children e.g. Scouts, BB, Clubs.

  • Must be willing to undertake certified training.

  • Must undergo Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme checks.

  • Must undergo Reference checks and complete SSSC registration.

  • Must be able to provide at least 1 Childcare Reference.

Responsibilities of CPL Support Worker:

  • Promote high-quality child led play by promoting children's individual choice and development through imaginative, fun and interesting play.

  • Demonstrate the continuous development of the play setting to meet the needs of each child.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous professional development.

  • Reflect on practice to act on and improve their own practice.
