Our management system is unique, as many core administration, finance and management tasks are supported / undertaken by a central support, encompassing Finance, Administration and HR team. The Manager / Lead Practitioner has more time to focus on delivering and developing a quality service.

The Role

As a SSSC registered professional, the successful candidate will be required to uphold the SSSC Codes of Work Practice, MACS Values and Mission Statement. By role modelling our values in a professional manner which fosters mutual respect and understanding. The successful candidate will promote inclusion, individual choice and support development and learning of all stakeholders in your care. This will include individual planning to meet the needs and provide positive outcomes for children and families.

The successful candidate will be able to: -

  • Work as an Integral part of the Senior Management Team sharing good practice between our 11 locations.
  • Lead and inspire staff to provide quality experiences for all children in our care, which are fun, stimulating and creative where children can play, develop, and learn.
  • Build and maintain strong, supportive, and respectful relationships with your team and parents to enable individual children’s needs to be met.
  • Understand and disseminate knowledge of current legislate frameworks.

The positions are permanent, part-time, or full-time, Monday to Friday Term time.

  • Scotstoun,3.25 hours per day
  • Clarkston / Newton Mearns area, 4.5 hours per day

Contracted Hours will include weekly admin hours, ranging from 4.5 – 6 hours, dependent on location. Admin hours are facilitated through a blend of office and home working. Additional admin (12–16) hours will be required during the summer holidays to prepare for the new school year.

About you

  • The successful candidate should; hold or be working towards either a PDA plus in Childhood Practice SCQF level 9 qualification or BA in Childhood practice.
  • Have at least 2 years supervisory experience in a paid childcare or professional supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy impacting OSC.
  • Engage in the MACS Senior Staff Leadership programme.
  • Meet the criteria for professional registered Manager / lead practitioners, including meeting appropriate security and reference checks
  • I.T. competent with capable numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Display effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Flexible, resilient, and adaptable to change, a creative thinker able to deliver ideas with a strengths-based approach to leadership and problem solving.

Support Worker  Salary: £9.00 per Hour


​​​East Renfrewshire Area - Term Time only, Split shift: 7.45 am - 9.00 am then returning again at 2.45pm - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday ​Scotstoun Area - Term Time only: 2.45pm - 6pm, Monday to Friday Requirements of CPL Support Worker: Childcare experience required, this experience can be gained through Employment, Childminding, Baby Sitting, Volunteering with Children e.g. Scouts, BB, Clubs. Must be willing to undertake certified training. Must undergo Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme checks. Must undergo Reference checks and complete SSSC registration. Must be able to provide at least 1 Childcare Reference. Responsibilities of CPL Support Worker: Promote high-quality child led play by promoting children's individual choice and development through imaginative, fun and interesting play. Demonstrate the continuous development of the play setting to meet the needs of each child. Demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous professional development. Reflect on practice to act on and improve their own practice. Rate of pay: £9.00 per hour

  • To undertake and be proactive with administrative, resourcing or domestic duties as required including completion of administration hours within head office.
