MACS are currently looking to recruit creative, caring, and motivated Care & Playful Learning Support Workers to join our out of school care settings across East Renfrewshire and Glasgow.
We currently have various vacancies and hours available from Monday – Thursday, working in the following areas:
· Clarkston: Hours ranging from: 6 to 10.25 *
· Scotstoun: Hours up to: 13 (PM only) *
· Newton Mearns and Neilston: Hours ranging from: 6.5 to 22.5 *
*AM hours are 7.45am-9am and our PM hours range from 2.45/3pm until 6pm, term time
The Role
Support workers at MACS provide nurture, care, and support to children in a fun and rewarding environment. You will be responsible to the senior team who will provide any guidance required to support you in your role. The role of a CPL Support worker at MACS is to provide quality experiences which are fun, stimulating, and creative. As part of our #MACSFamily you will also promote nurture, inclusion, and individual choice, whilst supporting development and learning.
As a SSSC registered professional you are expected to uphold the Codes of Work Practice and MACS values and mission statement by role modelling.

Requirements of Care and Playful Learning Support Worker:
· Childcare experience is required, experience can be gained through employment, childminding / babysitting (out with family), volunteering within organisations i.e., Scouts, BB, Girl Guides, Sport Coaching etc
· Must be able to provide at least 1 Childcare Reference (out with family)
· Committed to continuous professional learning in line with regulatory bodies
· Registered or willing to register with SSSC and meet appropriate security and reference checks
Rate of Pay: £12.25 per hour

Requirements of CPL Practitioner:
Must hold a SVQ level 3 or equivalent (if you don't hold a relevant qualification please apply for the CPL Support Worker role, where training is provided)
Must be willing to undertake certified training.
Must undergo Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme checks.
Must undergo Reference checks and complete SSSC registration.
Must be able to provide at least 1 Childcare Reference.
Requirements of CPL Practitioner:
Promote high-quality child led play opportunities and demonstrate the continuous development of the play setting to meet the needs of each child.
Demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous professional development.
Support and coach staff as required.
Reflect on practice to act on and improve their own practice and that of colleagues

Depute Lead Practitioner Role
The role of a Depute Lead Practitioner at MACS will be to provide and demonstrate the ability to
Help to support with leading and inspiring staff to plan quality experiences where children can play, develop, and learn.
Work as an integral part of the senior management team and sharing good practice.
Build and maintain strong, supportive, and respectful relationships with your team and parents to ensure individual children’s needs to be met.

Interact on a professional level with all stakeholders and establish and maintain good relationships which will promote the development and effective delivery of the service.

Our competitive depute lead practitioner rate of pay is £13.25 per hour.
Knowledge and required experience
Applicants are expected to hold, or be working towards, the minimum SCQF Level 7 in Childhood Practice or equivalent.
Applicants must have previous and proven experience in a childcare setting together with staff supervision and/or management experience.
Successful applicants will be required to meet the criteria for SSSC registration at Practitioner level, undergo PVG checks, provide evidence of their eligibility to work in the UK and will be required to provide a minimum of 2 satisfactory employment & personal references prior to appointment.
Skills & Qualities

Ability to adopt effective ‘Change Management’ strategies.
Shows effective communication skills both verbal and written.

Hours of work will be split shifts:
Breakfast Club Care – 7.45am – 9am, Monday to Friday (East Renfrewshire area's only)
After-School Care – 2.45/3pm – 6pm, Monday to Friday (East Renfrewshire & Glasgow area's)
Weekly admin hours, ranging from 3 hours to 4 hours, depending on location

Role Overview:
As a Lead Practitioner, you will lead and inspire a team of childcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and support for the children in our services. Required Qualifications & Experience:
A BA in Childhood Practice (or equivalent) or working towards this qualification.
A minimum of 2 years of childcare experience, including 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
Ability to meet the criteria for SSSC registration at Lead Practitioner level.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a PVG check, provide evidence of their eligibility to work in the UK, and provide 3 satisfactory references prior to appointment.
