In the event of School Closure, due to severe weather conditions, MACS where possible will try to operate an emergency care facility from one of our registered venues.

As you will be aware the closure of schools due to bad weather has occurred more frequently in recent years.

Please note that the quickest method of contacting our parent(s) / carer(s) with up to date news, is via Email, MACS Facebook and MACS Twitter.

Can we ask you to check your Email, MACS Facebook and MACS Twitter for any updates?

We work proactively for parent(s) / carer(s), to find alternative venues to offer emergency care, and ask for parent(s)/ carer(s) support whilst we put these emergency procedures in place.

As indicated in our terms & conditions, when projects are closed, this decision is not taken lightly. In exceptional circumstances the decision to close is not ours and is due to School Lets being cancelled. We will charge full fees on this occasion and would review this policy in the event of unforeseen long-term closure.

When this happens could you please ensure you check ahead for travel to ensure safe arrivals and departures from projects. In the event of this could you please contact the project manager if there is going to be changes for example running late or if your child is going to be collected by another authorised collector.

  • Illness

We follow NHS guidelines regarding illness. If your child has got sickness and diarrhoea, your child must not attend MACS for 48hours after last episode. If your child is going to be absent from project please inform the project manager.
